Term: Our full time position starts in June and goes until October, with potential to work part-time throughout the winter melting, bottling and selling honey. The season ends with wrapping and winterizing hives. Once the flow is over we then shift into disease and mite control, as well as a heavy focus on feeding and nutrition. ![]() Each week is different! Activities include hive inspections, queen rearing, honey harvesting and extraction, as well as building and cleaning of bee equipment. You will have an opportunity to partake in every aspect of hive maintenance and honey production as the jobs shift throughout the season. Please note that a drivers license is required. A full super of honey can weigh up to 90lbs, and it is important that you are able to safely and comfortably carry full supers. Calm beekeepers make calm bees, and one cannot be calm if afraid of being stung. The second most important quality is a willingness to get stung. ![]() Beekeeping experience is a plus but not absolutely necessary. You will get all the experience and mentorship you need to be a capable beekeeper. The most important quality is a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in bees.
